About Deborah
I've had a lifelong love affair with writing and editing that's never abated, and I don't want it to. I've had the chance to work with some amazingly talented writers and editors in my career who've helped me grow into a collaborative, savvy and strategic communications and content team leader. That said, I'm constantly focused on ways to hone my craft and become even better. Win-win for me — and for you.
Born and raised in South Florida, I earned my bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida. I met my husband, Sean, at UF. He's my favorite nerd, and a smart one at that. In 2007, we picked up and moved across the country to the beautiful state of Colorado, where we live today with our two children. I also hold a master's degree in public relations from Ball State University.
During my nearly 20-year career, I've been a news reporter, a corporate communicator, a spokesperson, a freelance writer, a managing editor and a team leader. I've spent more than 15 years in the real estate and personal finance space. I thrive in fast-paced environments, I'm adaptable to change, and I'm never afraid to dive into challenging new projects.
Why should you work with me? It's simple, really: I will shoot straight with you. I'll be transparent. I'll do what I say I'm going to do and make sure you're happy with my work. If you think I'd be a good fit for your editorial and/or comms needs, feel free to contact me directly so we can talk.
